Message delays expected after BlackBerry recovery
2011-10-13
Research in Motion has informed operators that their BlackBerry Messenger, BlackBerry Firm Service and BlackBerry Web Service e-mail and perusing are operational, but warned that some users may see message delays as queues clear. Edge pointed to the fact that around 30 percent of customers in the Europe, Middle East and Africa ( EMEA ) area are presently impacted. On their BlackBerry Service Update web site Edge expounded that they continue to work on clearing the message backlog to get rid of delays. The BlackBerry outage started on Monday ten October, and was due to a core switch failure inside RIM's substructure. "Although the system is intended to failover to a back-up switch, the failover didn't function as formerly tested," Edge claimed in an announcement 2 days gone.
