SEACOM down for days
2011-10-10
SEACOM is experiencing down-time again. the wire system went down on Sat. eight October 2011, and primary feedback means that the down time may last for one or two days. SEACOM related that their Mediterranean backhaul service supplier is experiencing a service influencing outage between Abu Talat and Marseilles. This is impacting on all SEACOM traffic to Europe. "SEACOM is working at restoring our purchasers on other ways and may continue to monitor the situation closely," the SEACOM web site states. MWEB informed their customers on Sun. nine October MWEB recounted that they were still waiting for an anticipated time when the difficulty will be fixed. Openweb also told their customers the SEACOM wire is down again. "Faithfully called the ghost wire, the SA net will be suffering dearly again this week due to its failure," Openweb founder Keoma Wright told customers. Belief CTO Andrew Alston expounded that they've had confirmation that SEACOM is offline and is not likely to come back online for one or two days. The SEACOM down time looks to be related to a failure on the Telecoms Egypt North ( TE North ) submarine telecomms wire linking France and Egypt. Early suggestions suggest that it could take around a week to patch up the problem. SEACOM may however be down for ten days or longer.
