Facebook users on Wed. took to grousing about changes planned to make it simpler to manage the torrents of updates from chums at the planet's biggest social network. Folk vented ire in a choice of online locales including a "Petition against the new Facebook homepage" at the social network and a Twitter stream tagged "NewFacebook." Some lamented the latest Facebook changes were moves to be more like rival Google+ and hot text-message-based news-sharing service Twitter. "NewFacebook is like America," one Twitter user commented. "Plenty of folk discontent ( ed ), but it is not like anybody is essentially going to leave." Facebook users are famous for grousing aggressively about changes to the service but then changing and sticking with the web community. The comeback came a morning after Facebook started rolling out the very latest in a rapid-fire series of enhancements in what founder Mark Zuckerberg called a "launching season" for new features. Facebook's "News Feed" that streams updates from pals now gives concern to crucial posts, photographs shared at the internet site are displayed bigger, and a "Ticker" talk column was added for real time chats. In the last few weeks, Facebook has targeted on methods for members to better control what info gets shared with whom. Facebook last week started letting members follow strangers Twitter-style with the addition of "Subscribe" buttons that permit folks hear from folks who are not mates at the network, and share revelations with strangers. Facebook also commenced letting members be more discerning about what forms of updates from chums make it into their private reports feeds. The "Ticker" talk panel in a right-hand column on the screen permits folk to get involved in text talks targeted on freshly uploaded photographs or other posts. More Facebook press releases are anticipated at the social network's yearly developers meeting in San Francisco on Thursday. Conjecture in respect of what Facebook has in store at the gathering includes the launching of a platform for online music services like Rdio and Spotify with adding stories from pro reports outfits. The meeting will come shortly after Google dropped the necessity for an invite to join the Net giant's challenge to Facebook, Google+.
