Street View expands in South Africa

Google claims important additions to Street View in Limpopo, Western Cape, North Cape, Free State, North West, and Mpumalanga provinces. Google launched its Street View service in SA. In June 2010, and since that point has added diverse heritage sites and Cape wineries to the Street View image bank. In the newest development, Google commented that it has made serious additions to Street View for Limpopo, Western Cape, North Cape, Free State, North West, and Mpumalanga provinces. The southernmost end of Africa is also now part of Street View, with the including of Cape Agulhas, where the Indian and Atlantic seas meet. Among lots of other new additions, users who are rather more keen on urban centers can explore Polokwane, the capital city of Limpopo Province ; Mokopane, one of South Africa's wealthiest rural areas ; Mthatha, not far away from Mr. Mandela's home town ; or Harrismith, a wool making district that's also home to the biggest wagon stop in the Southern Hemisphere. "We are happy to be adding a number of new South African images to Google Street View, both rustic and urban," expounded Julie Taylor, Communications Boss for Google Sub-Saharan Africa. "Whether you need to visit the fringe of the Kalahari desert or coastal Margate, drive thru the Karoo, or merely check out parking options in Polokwane, Street View has something for everyone.".
