The Pirate Bay blocked again

Finnish record labels expounded Thursday they filed a petition in court to restrict access to The Pirate Bay, a preferred Swedish internet site that supplies access to copyrighted music, films, and other material. "The development of a legal online market is very unlikely in Finland if illegal services like The Pirate Bay are readily permitted to continue their operations," expounded Lauri Rechardt, a spokesperson for Finland's branch of the World Federation of the Phonographic Industry ( IFPI ), which represents the firms. Finland's Copyright Info and Anti-Piracy Centre filed the petition for the IFPI, asking the courts to want Web supplier Elisa to limit access to The Pirate Bay from Finland. Set up in 2003, The Pirate Bay makes it viable to skirt copyright charges and share music, film and PC game files using bit torrent technology, or p-2-p links offered on the site. In Apr 2009, Pirate Bay founders Peter Sunde, Fredrik Neij and Gottfrid Svartholm Warg were given jail and sizeable fines for copyright contravention, but the site is still operational.
